ABOUT TONY CHMELIK

Tony Chmelik of Frederick County, is your no-nonsense conservative representative running for County Council At Large. His one goal is to serve the greater Frederick County community and make life better for all of its residents.

Tony Chmelik, has resided in the same residence for 50 years. A graduate from Linganore High School, he then went on to study at Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, NC. He acquired his BA in Mathematics with an emphasis in computer programming along with a minor in engineering.

Tony has been married for 32 years to wife Rebecca and has 11 children and 7 grandchildren. He is the owner for 34 years of Chesky Construction Inc. He is a former Councilman from 2014-2018 and has done quite a bit of volunteer work including Knights of Columbus, Past Grand Knight,

Carretta Research Project, Savannah Georgia and several mission trips to Haiti.

THE PLATFORM

Freezing Property Taxes

Freeze property tax rates until a proper audit of the county’s expenses has been complete. Over the last 8 years, leadership has supported increased taxes on residents to pay for increased spending.

Tony supports a permanent freeze on property taxes for retirees over 65 year of age. This would include a 10% discount on current tax assessment. We value our retirees and want them to stay instead of relocating elsewhere.

Smart Growth

Tony Chmelik supports smart growth policies.

Support Education

Tony Chmelik supports all teachers and will work to ensure they have the necessary resources to do their job effectively.

Tony Chmelik supports parental rights, especially in their choice to educate their children effectively.

Mandates

Tony Chmelik believes in every individual’s rights over mandates. Tony will never support mandates, including mask mandates or other mandates that do not honor a person’s liberty to choose what is best.
